Thank You Greater Patchogue: You can say goodbye to the old East Patchogue McDonald’s

Recently Greater Patchogue covered our work to secure zoning approvals for McDonald’s in East Patchogue.

You can say goodbye to the old East Patchogue McDonald’s

The McDonald’s at the corner of Montauk Highway and Sills Road in East Patchogue will soon be torn down and rebuilt with a modern look, improved landscaping and a sleek drive-through.

The new 4,359-square-foot building will replace the long-standing McDonald’s at 769 Montauk Highway. Until a few years ago, the East Patchogue location was one of the last in the country to have an outdoor children’s playhouse.

To move forward with the project, McDonald’s needed a zoning change, a special permit and multiple variances — all of which have been approved in recent weeks by the Town of Brookhaven. The final site plan was signed off in July.

Melville-based law firm Brown Altman LLP represented McDonald’s in the approval process. Bohler is handling civil engineering, with traffic planning by TPD Engineering and architecture by AECOM.

A construction timeline has not been announced. Check back with Greater Long Island for updates.
