Keith Patrick Brown, Esq. is a founding partner of Brown Altman, LLP, where he advises a diverse portfolio of corporate clients on complex real estate matters throughout the tri-state area. His practice encompasses commercial real estate litigation, zoning and land use regulation, real estate development and environmental compliance.

Keith counsels an array of clients – from Fortune 500 companies, national retailers, and petroleum distributors to banks, telecommunications firms, renewable energy developers, industrial warehouse owners and local small businesses. His legal acumen and strategic insight have made him a trusted advisor in high-stakes projects and transactions.

He has led several high-profile developments, including securing entitlements for Long Island’s first Wegmans supermarket, overseeing the redevelopment of the former Newsday facility for the East Coast’s largest industrial warehouse owner and obtaining entitlements for critical energy infrastructure projects—such as deploying fuel cells across all Stop & Shop Supermarkets, a 4 MW fuel cell facility and the first battery storage project in the Town of Southampton.

Keith has also represented clients in multimillion-dollar litigation and negotiated major commercial transactions, including EPC contracts and credit facilities.

A thought leader in land use and sustainability, Keith is the founder and Co-Chair of the Touro Law Center Institute of Land Use & Sustainable Development. He is an active member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and the Suffolk County Bar Association and is admitted to practice in New York, Connecticut and in multiple federal courts.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

  • Secured all entitlements for Long Island’s first Wegmans supermarket
  • Represented the largest owner of industrial warehouse space on the East Coast for the redevelopment of the former Newsday facility.
  • Obtained entitlements for critical energy infrastructure projects—such as deploying fuel cells across all Stop & Shop Supermarkets, a 4 MW fuel cell facility and the first battery storage project in the Town of Southampton.
  • Represents international solar developer in multi-million dollar federal and state litigation and in the negotiation of the purchase agreement and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a 60 acre solar energy facility in Middle Island, New York.
  • Closed two $30 million lines of credit with multiple lenders for residential mortgage company.
  • Represented the Seller of the Underhill Estate to a major developer in Oyster Bay.
  • Rezoned 30-acre light industrial parcel for a 250,000 square foot shopping center, known as the “Mount Sinai Village Centre,” in Mount Sinai, New York.
  • Represent international telecommunications companies in federal and state litigation.
